The creative arts, especially music performance, have accompanied Miriam Lee throughout her life. She built an extensive track record in the creative arts (filmmusic, co-compositions, violin-arrangement) - and especially in stage violin performance. Since 2015, a novel focus on Meditation, Sound Therapy & Music Medicine developed on top of her Medical and Music activities, converging a multidisciplinary set of experience and skills.

Part of Miriam Lee's skill set is based on a broad experience with orchestral, soloist and band projects over the past > 20 years. Her practice is based on over > 11 years of professional training as a violinist since the age of 5, during which she successfully participated in national music competitions Jugend Musiziert. During this time, Miriam Lee experienced the incredibly powerful effect of music on health, which brought her back to life after a serious illness and led her to study medicine. In her early 20s, as a medical student, she continued to make music, adding influences from experimental, pop and rock music, and improvisation (the free playing and composing of music in the present moment without a script) developed during this time. A decade of exploring pop-rock-gypsy and theater music with violin arrangements followed. She worked as a freelance violinist in various formations on stage, in the studio (for the classical, pop-rock and theater genres) and wrote violin arrangements and co-compositions in the field of pop-rock music (Hallelujah, Cardiac Move, Helena Hallberg, Phil Ryan and others). During this time, Dr. Lee encountered another neurological phenomenon of a deeply transpersonal, spiritual nature - with strong implications for her medical research focus. While working in pain management, psychiatry and global health, she was a substitute violinist with the 21st Century Orchestra KKL Luzern and the Pepe Lienhard Orchestra (Udo Juergens). In addition to her work as a violinist, she pursued projects in the field of high performance coaching (psychology/neuroscience/music), film projects (Swiss Cancer League; Fidelio, Mediafisch, commercials) and worked with directors and composers (Christian Frei, Mauro Mueller, Greg Brunkalla, in and EU, USA). This current chapter on Music Performance, Sound Immersion & Brain Health has evolved from 2014 to present - with a contemplative period of returning to her Korean roots and pan-Asian field research 2016 - 2020. Since 2019, she has been performing in-person and remote sound baths and researching sound as therapy and medicine in Switzerland. Dr. Miriam Lee is currently active in Sonic Health R&D and artistic endeavours with several collaborators across Europe.
